About the Cooperative

The goal of the Scholarship in 3D Digital Publishing Cooperative is to socially, academically, and technically enable the publication of 3D Scholarly Editions and to develop concrete (and shared) workflows and best practices for innovative 3D publication formats. Bringing together scholars, academic presses, technologists, and librarians, the Cooperative re-imagines the peer-review process and creates new pathways to publication for scholars working with richly annotated 3D content. It seeks to ease the burden on individual scholars and Presses to develop custom scholarly apparatuses by providing a suite of flexible platforms that support many authors and publishers.

The Cooperative was formed as part of the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and the National Historical Publications and Records Commission (NHPRC) Digital Edition Publishing Cooperatives Program.
